WINE - Pater Noster Church Israel - Thy Kingdom Come

“Father, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread;  and forgive us our sins, for we ourselves forgive every one who is indebted to us; and lead us not into temptation.” ~ Luke 11:2-4

October 9, 2017

On this day seven years ago, after a lengthy illness, I lost my husband, Mark, the love of my life.  I was Mark’s wife for 5483 days, 1 hour, 36 minutes, and he taught me so much during our journey. Mark was brave; he taught me to be brave even when I didn’t think I had the capacity for bravery. He was kind; he taught me that kindness is a joyful and simple way to live.  Today, I honor him and the life we were blessed with.

The Lord’s Prayer

I was blessed to be in the Holy Land on the anniversary of Mark’s death in 2018, and guess where we went?!  Pater Noster Church! This is the site where Jesus taught His disciples “The Lord’s Prayer.”  As I reflect on the Gospel reading today, I am grateful this prayer is a mainstay in my life. It is a grounding prayer that helps calm me in the midst of choppy waters, during times of uncertainty, and during times of thanksgiving.

Connecting the Dots; Thy Will Be Done

October 9 marked the last day of Mark’s life on earth.

I was at Pater Noster Church on October 9.

I selected this day to blog without knowing the exact Gospel.

That is HIS WILL!

He always reminds me that He knows better than I do and always reminds me that He is with me through the good and bad times. Jesus, I trust in you.

Prayer:

Our Father who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come.

Thy will be done

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us,

and lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory,

forever and ever.

Amen.

Call to Action:

Say the Lord’s Prayer today, and let each word resonate with your life and how you allow Jesus to take the wheel.
