“Your perseverance will win you your lives.” ~ Luke 21:19

The Gospel today speaks to me about life not always being easy. And when difficult times are upon us, we will survive. With Him.

Be Still

I cannot help but think about the magnitude of “Be Still and Know that He is God” as I reflect upon the Gospel reading. “Your perseverance will win you your lives.”

How can I be or do anything but persevere? My God knew His plans for me long before I entered the earth.

The biggest loss of my life was saying goodbye to my husband, Mark, in October 2017. We were granted 15 years and four days as husband and wife.

I would like to share this excerpt from my book and my life:

Around 3 am, I awakened to Mark sitting up in bed clutching the St. Joseph prayer card with his left hand. I sat up with him and gently and lovingly spoke to him. Inwardly, I was astonished as Mark had no feeling in his hands at this point, and his hands were contorted due to nerve damage. It was impossible for him to actually pick up this card, and I knew that my prayers were being answered.

Resilience

All I could do at the very moment was to GIVE IN.

TO BE STILL.

To trust that He knew what he was doing and to allow the last moments to unfold. In the midst of the angst of loving and letting go, all I could do was persevere.

Prayer

Jesus, I trust in You; I close my eyes, and let me lead You as You will. Your Glory is forever.

Call to Action

How strong is your faith? Recall the times you lacked faith and trust, and what did you learn from that experience?
