This great nation is truly a wise and intelligent people. And what great nation is there,
that has statutes and ordinances so righteous as all this law
which I set before you this day? ~ Deuteronomy 4:8
These are the scriptural words of God to Moses, commanding his chosen people to live according to God’s commandments. America is a nation founded on God’s statutes and ordinances. At some point in our recent history, we, like the Israelites, have forgotten the commandments of God. We are mostly living by our man-made laws. How is that working out for us?
We live in an America where immorality is now the accepted norm. Our school systems are indoctrinating our children with unchristian beliefs, parents no longer have their God-given rights over their children, abortion is a right on-demand, and suicide is at an all-time high, to name a few issues. Sweeping the “dirt” under the rug is not an option. God commanded us to live a particular way of life and to teach our children this way. Are we to leave our country in this pitiful state for our children and grandchildren?
There is hope for us, and that hope is in Jesus Christ. We must know him so intimately that we cultivate a holy boldness. We must pray for wisdom and knowledge to live in accord with the will of God and not men. We cannot fall into the fear and lie that we are an uneducated, common people without a Savior.
“And now, Lord, look upon their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness, while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus” (Acts 4:29-30). Holy boldness will return us to a great nation of truly wise and intelligent people, godly people.”
Prayer
God of Wisdom, you created me to burn with a desire to seek you and serve you in my life, home, and country. Lord, send your Holy Spirit to give me a holy boldness to protect my children and those who will come after me to live in a country that knows You.
St. Catherine of Siena, Pray for us. St. Joan of Arc, Pray for us. Mary Immaculate, pray for us. Lord, hear our prayers and grant us your peace.
Call to Action
I will look for and join organizations that promote God’s laws in our country. I will actively pray for and seek to live in a righteous nation with a godly government. I will encourage my family and friends to do the same with holy boldness.

Letitia,
Thanks for sharing your encouraging words about “holy boldness.” I am always inspired by those around us who tap into their inner “Ester” and stand up for what is good, just, and holy. You are one of those Esters! This is a great reminder that we are called to be holy like our Heavenly Father is holy. (He tends to say that a lot in the Scriptures!) And, as such HOLY boldness is what is needed for such a time as this—not gruff, arrogant, rude, irritable boldness, but HOLY boldness. Love this. Thanks for the reminder!
I love my messages from WINE, but as a public school teacher, I find your statement, “Our school systems are indoctrinating our children with unchristian beliefs”, offensive. I, along with many other public school educators, come to work each day in the hopes of letting my students see Jesus in me.
Anne,
Thanks for sharing your comment. It is good to hear that you are the light of Christ for our children and our future church.
