God can be so slow in answering some prayers. Others get answered quickly. Most have a moderate amount of time before getting answered. Then there are the outliers-the 20%-that never seem to hit God’s radar. It’s easy to think our prayers fall of deaf ears, yet that is not how I see God operating.
I believe that God delights in our prayers. Be not afraid to ask. Be cautious to expect answers to every whispered prayer. It’s not that they are deemed unworthy, outlandish, or ego-centric, rather some prayers are meant to remain unanswered.
Imagine if every prayer you raised up to heaven was answered. If that had been the case for me, my life would be dramatically different right now…not all for the good because… if some prayers were answered I would have missed out on the larger lessons provided.
Only God knows what is best for me. He sees the grand scheme of things. So I’m learning to be patient with the silence that accompanies waiting.
Very wise observations, Judy. It’s like Garth Brooks song, “Sometimes I Thank God for Unanswered Prayers”. It often takes time to realize He has answered, but not always the way we think we’d like them answered.
