As I read this reflection slowly, something inside of my heart felt God calling me to his peaceful presence.
Out of love… what a powerfully intense concept. Never have I known a love like God’s/Jesus’.
Held in bondage… this especially pulls at my heartstrings. There are so many things that have had me in bondage. Emotions like fear, anxiety, worrying. Behaviors like OCD, perfectionism but I’m no where near perfect. Devices such as eating too much, and the evil one’s wicked schemes which I seem to fall for nearly all the time.
All who are in darkness… I “see” me in a cave. My darknesses come from my unrealized fears, needless worries, and depression. The very things that cause my darkness are also the drivers that pull me closer to Christ. It’s like first responders who go toward the fire, I am compelled to draw near to Jesus when things are at their darkest.
All who are sleeping, to arise… God wants to wipe away the sand from my sleepy eyes. He wants me to live, live the one life he has gifted to me. Start living today, this minute. When I forget to live, start again. Every breath is another start at living life.
