Today’s Thought from Scripture:  2 Samuel 7:12-14

Teresa-21When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come forth from your body, and I will establish his kingdom.  He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.  I will be a father to him, and he shall be a son to me.

When I heard that for many years Christmas was not celebrated in Albania, Mother Teresa’s homeland, I wondered how she observed it. Then I came across this charming story, “The Unique Christmas Gift,” in which Mother Teresa receives an unexpected Christmas gift.

What is the most unique gift you received from your heavenly Father this Advent?

 Heavenly Father,

your ways are so much higher than ours,

with mysteries too great to understand.

Help me to trust you to fulfill your promises

in your time, not mine.

Thank you for the gift of your Son,

the fulfillment of all your promises to us.

St. Teresa of Calcutta, pray for us!
