Today’s Thought from Scripture:  John 5:35-36

Teresa-21[John the Baptist] was a burning and shining lamp, and you were willing to rejoice for a while in his light.  But I have a testimony greater than John’s. The works that the Father has given me to complete, the very works that I am doing, testify on my behalf that the Father has sent me.

For Mother Teresa and her sisters, spending time in prayer before the sacrament was an indispensable part of their calling. It gave them strength to do what would otherwise have been impossible. “We have an hour of adoration before the Blessed Sacrament every day,” said Mother Teresa. “I believe this has been the greatest gift to our congregation. It is something that has worked important things in our lives” (p.50).

When was the last time you made an appointment with God? In what area of your life do you most need his strength right now?

You are my hiding place, O God.

You fill my heart with songs of deliverance,

even when I am afraid I will trust in you.

St. Teresa of Calcutta, pray for us!
