Today’s Thought from Scripture: Psalm 122:7-9
Peace be within your walls,
and security within your towers!” For my brethren and companions’ sake
I will say, “Peace be within you!” For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,
I will seek your good.
One of the most remarkable aspects of the witness of Mother Teresa was her ability to love – and to find a way to work with – even world leaders whose beliefs and priorities were absolutely antithetical to her own. She did this in order to reach the poor and marginalized who suffered most in regions torn apart by war and civil unrest. “Please choose the way of PEACE” she admonished world leaders.
How am I working for peace in my corner of the world?
Lord Jesus,
Today you come to us not as a tiny stranger,
But as the Prince of Peace.
Take your place in our hearts, and stay there forever.. . .
St. Teresa of Calcutta, pray for us!
