I trust in the Lord, my soul trusts in his word. ~Psalm 130:5

I have a friend who never locks her car when there are groceries in the backseat.  “If someone needs food, God wants them to have it,” she once told me.   Her example is an image of complete trust and surrender. Without any words, she is saying: “Everything I have belongs to God.”

At this time of year, we remember those who provide similar examples of surrender.   Mary said yes to an unplanned pregnancy. Joseph raised a child who wasn’t his own. Elizabeth and Zechariah became parents in their Golden years.

Is God calling you to surrender an area of your life?

As Christmas approaches, perhaps your gift to God can be your trust.
