At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea. ~Luke 1:39

EinKarem9-2012

After the angel told Mary that she had be chosen to be the mother of God, she traveled to the “hill country” to visit her cousin Elizabeth. It can’t have been an easy journey for her. It was about 100 miles of rugged terrain.

Though we can never know what mode of transportation she used, I see her riding on a donkey. Surely, it must’ve been an uncomfortable ride, especially if she was experiencing the nausea of early pregnancy.

Nonetheless, young Mary kept moving forward.

Sometimes, the journey of faith gets hard.

But like Mary, we can move forward, knowing that we are not alone.

This Advent, keep going, even if it’s a bumpy ride.

God is leading you to a beautiful destination.
