Beloved; See what love the Father has bestowed upon us that we may be called children of God. ~ I John 3:1

What does the word “beloved” mean? The dictionary defines beloved with the following words: darling, dearest, precious, adored, much loved, cherished, and treasured.

Many of us have a hard time accepting that God could feel this way about us. Aware of our sinfulness, we often feel unworthy of God’s love and mercy.

But the scriptures tell us that God’s love for us is deeply personal. In Isaiah 43: 4, we read these words: Because you are precious in my sight, you are honored and I love you…

On this first Friday in Advent, take a few moments to stand in front of a mirror. Let yourself feel the warmth of God’s presence. Hear your father say: “My child, you are dear to me; adored, treasured, and loved.
