Imagine walking in the footsteps of one who loved God more than self, one who sacrificed everything to teach others of the Lord’s love for each individual person no matter how much society said they didn’t matter, one who gave up everything to live the will of the Father.

Today, on the Feast of St. Catherine of Siena, pick one of the beautiful characteristics of St. Catherine’s to emulate. St. Catherine allowed her heart to be transformed so she could love like Christ. She did this through prayer, mediation on the Word of God, by the sacraments and above all by receiving Holy Communion with a fervent devotion.

Perhaps take 5 minutes to ask for St. Catherine’s intercession to learn to love like Christ, or spend 5 minutes meditating on Psalm 67, or take an extra moment before receiving Holy Communion today to truly follow Blessed Mother Teresa and St. Catherine and invite the Lord to increase your tender love for Him in the Eucharist. Ask him to set your heart on fire with love for Him.

If you can see yourself imitating these wonderful women… then you can see yourself imitating Christ.
