In the day when I call, answer me speedily.  Psalm 102:2

Many of us have prayed for months or years or a specific prayer to be answered. But sometimes, God will surprise us with a quick answer. I once prayed for the funds to pay my heating bill. That very day, an unexpected check arrived in the mail.

And then there was my friend Roxanne.  On the night before she had surgery for ovarian cancer, we prayed that God would heal her. The next day, the doctors were stunned. Her cancerous tumor had miraculously shrunk in size.

While it’s nice to have a swift and definitive answer to our prayers, God has his own timing.

What matters most is that we pray.
