Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? (Matthew 25:37)
From time to time, I volunteer at a local center where thousands of meals are packed for those who need it. One morning, I worked with a young man who was mentally challenged. His job was to put stickers on the outside of plastic bags. He did his job meticulously, centering each sticker and smoothing it with his hand. As I watched, I imagined God smiling. The man was doing his part to feed the hungry.
The Lord gives us so many opportunities to care for those who hunger. We can donate to a food shelf, cook a meal for someone in need, or simply buy dinner for someone who is struggling.
Each time we share these small acts of love, God smiles.
