Tuesday of the Third Week of Advent

Today’s Thought from Scripture: Psalm 34:9-10
O fear the Lord, you his holy ones, for those who fear him have no want. The young lions suffer want and hunger, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
As we gather together at the end of the day, the twinkle of lights and aroma of greenery enriches family time, as we revel in the joyful anticipation of the season. In today’s meditation from ASTC, however, we find the Sisters ripping up the carpets of their new facility, unwilling to enjoy luxuries that their Sisters in other parts of the world did not enjoy (p.43). As Christians, we have responsibility to our brothers and sisters as well – each in a way appropriate to our means and our particular vocation. This means something different for each person.
How is God asking you to identify more closely with those who have less?
Blessed, Holy Trinity,
your angels travel throughout the world,
guarding and guiding your children
in good times and bad.
Help me to see my circumstances this week
as a cause for joy,
an opportunity to practice contentment in everything I do.
St. Teresa of Calcutta, pray for us!
